Day 1: Nairobi

Arrive at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, where our Kenyan driver-guide will meet you and transfer you to your Nairobi hotel.

Day 2: Nairobi – Sweetwaters, Mt Kenya

After breakfast, depart Nairobi for Ol Pejeta Conservancy in the Mt Kenya region, travelling through the scenic landscapes of Central Kenya.

Arrive at Sweetwaters Tented Camp for lunch before enjoying an afternoon game drive. Ol Pejeta is home to an impressive variety of wildlife, including the Big Five — elephant, rhino, lion, buffalo and leopard.

Day 3: Mt Kenya – Aberdares

After breakfast, depart for the nearby Aberdare National Park. Arrive at Aberdare Country Club for lunch before continuing into the forested Aberdares.

The park is home to elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard, bushbuck, giant forest hog, Sykes monkey and the elusive bongo.

A representative will transfer you to The Ark Lodge, a unique tree lodge overlooking a wildlife waterhole and salt lick. Its viewing decks and ground-level bunker offer excellent opportunities to observe wildlife, including animals visiting during the night.

What to Expect

Leave the open plains behind and enter the cool, forested world of the Aberdares. Expect a completely different safari environment, with dense montane forests, waterfalls and wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, bushbuck, giant forest hogs and, with luck, the elusive bongo.

Day 4: Aberdares – Lake Nakuru

After breakfast, return to Aberdare Country Club and reconnect with your driver-guide before continuing to Lake Nakuru National Park.

Enjoy a brief stop at Thomson’s Falls before arriving at your lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, head out for a game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park.

The park is renowned for its birdlife and is also home to black and white rhinos, Rothschild’s giraffes, lions, leopards, buffalo, waterbuck, reedbuck, baboons and other plains game.
