SVAT 002: 5 Days 4 Nights Lake Manyara/ Serengeti/ Ngorongoro

Day 1: Arusha – Lake Manyara

Depart Arusha in the morning for Lake Manyara, famous for its rare tree-climbing lions and birdlife. After lunch at Lake Manyara Tree Lodge, afternoon game drives till sunset.

Lake Manyara is a lovely location; a thin green band of forest, flanked on one side by the cliffs of the Rift Valley Wall, on the other by the shores of the ancient soda lake. Wildlife here is very diverse. We'll see many baboons and if we're lucky – the famous tree-climbing lion. Lake Manyara is also one of the finest parks for bird-lovers.

Day 2: Lake Manyara – Serengeti

After breakfast depart for Serengeti passing through Olduvai Gorge, the site of the Leakey family discovery of fossils of human and animal ancestors dating back to almost two million years. Lunch at Serengeti Sopa Lodge and then set off for Afternoon game drives. Witness the Serengetti migration. More than 1.5 million wildebeest and 700 000 zebras are on their way here if we pass by at the time of the famous annual wildebeest migration.

Day 3: Serengeti

Full day in Serengeti plains, search for wild game you might have missed the previous game drives. Morning and afternoon game drives.

Day 4: Serengeti – Ngorongoro

After breakfast drive to Ngorongoro Crater where a 4-wheel drive vehicle will take you 2000ft down to the crater, enjoy picnic lunch at the crater, ascend back to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Ngorongoro – JRO

After breakfast drive to Kilimanjaro International Airport to catch your international flight home.
