SKSA 007: 10-Day South Africa Family Safari
This is a children/family-friendly safari. We are flexible with the game drive routes and time spent on game drives. Our South Africa guides are children-friendly. We have the flexibility that you may need to accommodate the children’s needs and requirements.
We then have the flexibility during those days to go on various game drives in the area, which can be adapted according to the children’s needs on the safari, to join in special activities (like a bush picnic at one of the viewing sites or watch game) but this is on request.
We have carefully selected Madikwe Game Reserve, Cape Town’s Table Mountain and Grootbos Nature Reserve which have excellent sceneries for a family, especially children.
Days 1-4: Johannesburg and Madikwe Game Reserve
Welcome to South Africa. On arrival at Johannesburg International Airport, you will connect your scheduled charter flight to Madikwe Game Reserve.

Look forward to the sights and sounds whilst tracking Big Five game and other endangered species, or enjoy a thrilling night drive.
You will go for game drives in search of the wild dog, black and white rhino, gemsbok, giraffe and springbok. There are over 340 species of birds.
Days 5-7: Madikwe Game Reserve and Cape Town
Today we depart Madikwe Game Reserve. We will transfer you to Madikwe Airstrip to take your scheduled charter to Johannesburg. You will then connect with your flight to Cape Town International Airport.
Our representative will pick you from Cape Town International Airport and transfer you to your hotel. The exhilarating ascent of Cape Town’s Table Mountain is a must for any visitor and provides breathtaking views over the city and its beaches. The panorama stretches from Table Bay to False Bay and around the mountain to the Hout Bay Valley and Kommetjie. On a clear day one has a magnificent view across the Cape Flats to the Hottentots Holland Mountains.
The mountain is sculpted from sandstone and it rises 1086 metres above the bay. Its flat summit measures nearly 3km from end to end.
The mountain is home to approximately 1470 species of plants. Many of these are endemic, i.e. appearing nowhere else on earth. Included is the rare Silver Tree and the wild orchid Disa Uniflora.
Day 8-9: Cape Town and Grootbos Nature Reserve
Today, you will drive to Grootbos Nature Reserve which is almost two hours from Cape Town. You will be transferred to your Forest Lodge/Garden Lodge.
The Grootbos Nature reserve is situated a short drive from Cape Town along the Whale Coast.
Grootbos is rated amongst the most beautiful of conservation reserves and offers five star accommodation to visitors. The lodges are the epitome of luxury and comfort whilst capturing the harmony which nature thrives on in the reserve.
The Conservancy was created in 2004 to fulfil the greater need for Fynbos Conservation. The lodges operate on a social development basis, giving back to nature, and to the community whilst spreading the message to a global audience.
Grootbos Nature Reserve is child friendly allowing visitor’s children to receive five star treatment: adventures on the beach and rock pools, treasure hunts, horseback rides and much more forms a fun learning opportunities for children hosted by experienced guides.
Visiting Grootbos provides a true sense of wonder at what nature can produce. The flora ranges from stunning and protected Fynbos to the largest Milkwood Forest in the world. The beaches are lapped by crystal clear waters frequented by Southern Right Whales, the rare African Penguin and Great White Sharks.
As far as things to do, the opportunities are endless. Caves are to be explored, the area discovered on horseback rides and many activities are available which promise to make a trip to Grootbos unforgettable, such as shark cage diving, whale watching, hiking through some of the most stunning scenery in the world and much more.
Day 10: Cape Town and Fly Home
You will be taken to Cape Town Airport to catch your scheduled flight home.
