This Kenya wildlife safari takes you to Samburu, Aberdares, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Lake Naivasha, Amboseli, Tsavo West and Tsavo East.

Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu

Depart from Nairobi to Samburu Game Reserve, arriving at Samburu Sopa Lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drives till sunset.

Day 2: Samburu

Full day in Samburu, a beautiful and game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. Morning and afternoon game drives in the vast national reserve.

Day 3: Samburu – Aberdares

After breakfast, depart for Aberdares National Park. Arrive at Outspan Hotel in Nyeri for the 1330hrs transfer to Treetops Lodge. The Treetops Lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick which attracts a host of awesome wildlife at night and tourists view the wildlife from the balcony of their rooms or lodge verandah.

Day 4: Aberdares – Lake Nakuru

A representative of Treetops Lodge will transfer you back to Outspan Hotel where you’ll have your breakfast and reconnect with your driver/guide and depart for Lake Nakuru with a brief stop at Thompson Falls in Nyahururu. Lunch at Flamingo Tented Hill Camp. Afternoon game drives in the park. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds visiting the lake. Also, many species of game can be found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara

After breakfast depart for Maasai Mara arriving in time for lunch at Mara Sopa Lodge. Masai Mara Game Reserve has a high concentration of wildlife and outstanding scenic views. Afternoon game viewing drives till sun set. Optional evening visit to a Masai Manyatta Village to learn the dance and culture of the Masai tribe. (You’ll pay USD35 per person per visit directly to the village)

Day 6-7: Masai Mara

Spend the rest of the day in the Masai Mara plains doing game drives till sunset.

Day 8: Masai Mara – Lake Naivasha

After breakfast, depart for Lake Naivasha. Naivasha is one of the gems in a necklace of Rift Valley lakes, has a variety of bird life and hippo colonies. Lunch at Lake Naivasha Sopa Resort and afternoon visit to Hell’s Gate Park. Activities include hiking, rock climbing, spectacular gorge walks, bird watching and wildlife viewing. Sunset boat ride at Lake Naivasha (you’ll pay this directly to boat owners depending on the rides you take). The lodge charges $30 per person for boat ride per hour.

Day 9: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli

After breakfast, depart for Amboseli National Park via Nairobi. Lunch at Amboseli Sopa Lodge. The lodge is the only one in Amboseli which gives tourists the best view of the snow-capped Mt Kilimanjaro at dawn. Afternoon game drives in search of herds of elephants, giraffes, lions, and a variety of other animals and birds.

Day 10: Amboseli

Full day in Amboseli with morning and afternoon game drives. You’ll have an option to visit Maasai villages to learn their culture and dance. The Masai dancers charge a fee and you’ll pay this directly if you opt to go there. Visit Masai Village in the evening to learn their culture and dance (at a cost of USD30 per person per visit and you’ll pay this directly to the Masai Village).

Day 11: Amboseli – Tsavo West

After, breakfast depart for Tsavo West National Park which lies roughly half way between Nairobi and the Coast. Mzima Springs, the chief marvel here is a favorite haunt of hippos and crocodiles. Lunch at Ngulia Safari Lodge and later set off for afternoon game drives in search of large herds of elephants, buffalo, common waterbuck, eland, rhino and a wide variety of antelope.

Day 12: Tsavo West – Tsavo East

After breakfast, you’ll depart for the vast wilderness of Tsavo East, Kenya’s oldest and largest park. Lunch at Voi Safari Lodge. Afternoon game drives exploring the park where we can expect to see elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, kudu, zebra and hartebeest. Visit the scenic Lugards Falls, Mudanda Rocks (attracts elephants in the drier season) and Aruba Dam as we view game if time permits

Day 13: Tsavo East

Full day game drives in Tsavo East. The landscape in Tsavo East is flatter and drier, despite having one of Kenya’s largest rivers flowing through the middle. Much of the wildlife is concentrated on the Galana River, which has plentiful crocs and hippos. Likewise, Kudus, waterbucks and dik-diks are common along the river banks.

Day 14: Tsavo East – Nairobi – Depart Home

After breakfast, depart for Nairobi. Transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch your departure flight home.
